I am in high school, soon to be a senior. I used to love to go to school in elementary school, when I was actually learning so much. I used to love all the subjects especially recess (if that is a subject). History, that is called Social Studies in elementary school was very fun, we got to learn about the different presidents, the important buildings, the Great Wall Of China, and so many other cool things. Art was a blast! Art was definitely not my strongest subject, but it was fun, we would make our names look really cool and it would be displayed all throughout the hallways, even the not so great ones (mine of course). Math was easy for me and I also loved the work books we got, it made me feel like a big kid, carrying a "text book". Music was also a great class, even though I just memorized "hot cross buns" in fifth grade because I could not read the music. That is when I decided not to take any more music classes. English, which is divided into reading and writing, read aloud time was by far the best part, we would eat our snacks and our teacher would read to us, what could be more enjoyable? Writing was always interesting, because the stories I wrote were award winning, well of course I thought so. Science, my group was the first ones to light up our bulb using the battery, we also learned so much about the earth. All in all the six years of elementary was very enjoyable and I learned what I was good at, math, and what I was not, music. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Middle school, AKA "Drama School", besides all the drama the classes were also necessary for my education. Careers, was one of many classes that I actually learned something that benefited me throughout high school, in terms of getting a job, and looking at life as a glass half full. Math was all about algebra and geometry, which was good to know. English was mostly made up by book reports and an occasional narrative. History, was when I learned everything, it seemed like a full year of history had to cover everything, but little did I know in high school you were still required to take more history classes. Science was compromised of earth science and many experiments. My favorite was the coke and Mentos experiment. These classes and teachers allowed me to mature prior to attending high school. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ High school, the four years you attempt to decide what you want to do after high school. This is where I think some changes needs to be made. I take all the classes that are required, then I choose classes that I want to take to fill up the spaces. When I look through the choices there aren't many options that will actually prepare me for the future. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
